Damir Kukuruzović Django group is of homage to the music of Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappelli, the two who celebrated European music of the 20th century, and Kukuruzović, who is the owner of the Siscia jazz club, has long been regarded as one of Django Reinhardt’s most prominent followers. The most famous promoter of French jazz in this region, Kukuruzović’s band, performed at all relevant festivals at home and abroad, promoting the Django music and jazz tradition. He collaborated with Robin Nolan, Angel Debarre, Raphael Fays, Ludovic Beier, Wawa Adler, Yorgui Loeffler, Adrian Burns and many other world renowned musicians.
In addition to the Kukuruzović band, in Sisak in 2005, he decided to establish the Siscia jazz club of international significance and the international festival of jazz and blues (Siscia open jazz & blues festival) on the shores of Kupa, which have been visited by many world jazz musicians.
Damir Kukuruzović invited Paulus Schäfer. Paulus Schäfer is a Dutch jazz musician who has gained a great international reputation on the music scene with his guitar performances. It belongs to the greatest guitar virtuosos of today and is certainly among the greatest followers of Django Reinhardt’s music in the world. With authentic sound, fascinating guitar virtuosity and a sense of rhythm this artist won the audience across Europe and the world. For years he has performed at the biggest jazz festivals and the most important world stage, and some of them have just shared with Django Group with Damir Kukuruzovic. It succeeds in concerts, in an impressive way, to connect the roman music tradition with American standards and the European swing. In the Netherlands, he runs a music school attended by musicians from twenty countries around the world.
