Biography

Johnny Rosenberg was born on September 11, 1977 in Eindhoven and is a member of the very musical Gypsy Rosenberg family (eg of The Rosenberg Trio ) . He started playing guitar at a young age and together with his cousin Jimmy Rosenberg he formed the Gipsy Kids, the later Sinti Group. With this group he toured during the early nineties through Europe and the United States and opened shows for James Brown and Mariah Carey. Along with his other nephew Moses Rosenberg he played the last few years with jazz trio Rosenberg Van Mullem and they recorded the album Obsession. During their theatre tour of 2009 they worked together with pianist Rob van Bavel. During their latest theatre tour (2010) they performed together with the Dutch Diva Joke Bruijs and vibraphonist Frits Landesbergen with who they recorded a studio album ( On the Road ). During theatre season 2013 Johnny excelled as a singer with The Rosenberg Trio.

But where Johnny nowadays is most famous for, is his singing career . Since the late nineties, he began to develop as a singer and dragged in one prize after another. In 2005 he earned third place in the final of the National Contest with his own Latin – written pop song “When forever ends .” In 2010, Johnny took part in the TV program ” The Voice Of Holland ‘ and became a Dutch personality with a promising career ahead. Johnny’s participation in the TV program ” The Voice Of Holland ‘ offered him the opportunity to sing live with singer James Blunt. Johnny also met his idol Michael Buble backstage at a concert and was given the opportunity to talk with Buble and also to sing with him.

As a singer, he now performs with a wide repertoire and he can be booked with a full big band as a Michael Buble impersonator or with The Rosenbergs or The Rosenberg Trio. The choice is yours !

Johnny Rosenberg werd geboren op 11 september 1977 in Eindhoven en behoort tot de zeer muzikale zigeunerfamilie Rosenberg (van o.a. The Rosenberg Trio). Hij begon al op jeugdige leeftijd met gitaar spelen en maakte, samen met zijn neefje Jimmy Rosenberg, furore met de Gipsy Kids welke later overging in de groep Sinti, waarmee ze begin jaren negentig door Europa en de Verenigde Staten tourden en o.a. in het voorprogramma van James Brown en Mariah Carey stonden. Samen met zijn andere neefje Mozes Rosenberg speelde hij de afgelopen jaren met zijn jazz-trio ‘Rosenberg Van Mullem’ en hebben ze het album Obsession opgenomen. Hun theatertour van 2009 deden ze samen met pianist Rob van Bavel en hun laatste theatertour (2010) samen met Dutch Diva Joke Bruijs en vibraphonist Frits Landesbergen waarmee ze tevens een studioalbum (On the Road) opnamen. Theaterseizoen 2013 excelleerde Johnny als zanger met The Rosenberg Trio.

Maar waar Johnny tegenwoordig het meeste bekend om is, is zijn zangcarrière. Vanaf eind jaren negentig begon hij zich te ontwikkelen als zanger, sleepte hij de ene na de andere talentenjachtprijs binnen en behaalde in 2005 de derde plaats in de finale van het Nationaal Songfestival met zijn eigen geschreven latin-pop song “When forever ends”. In 2010 deed Johnny mee aan het tv-programma ‘The Voice Of Holland’, waarbij hij vanaf zijn eerste auditie iedereen om zijn vinger wond en in korte tijd een Bekende Nederlander werd met een hoopvolle carriere in het verschiet. Johnny’s deelname aan het tv-programma ‘The Voice Of Holland’ bracht de gelegenheid om live een duet te zingen met zanger James Blunt. Ook ontmoette Johnny zijn grote idool Michael Bublé backstage tijdens een concert, en kreeg daar niet alleen de gelegenheid om wat met Bublé te praten maar ook om samen te zingen.

Als zanger treedt hij tegenwoordig op met een breed repertoire, en is hij tevens te boeken met een complete Big Band als Michael Bublé imitator met The Rosenbergs of The Rosenberg Trio. De keuze is aan U!
